A Movie, A Book And The NEON Trend

Hi hi!

A somewhat sunny, somewhat rainy, very windy day off. I was able to ride my bike when the sun was out which was wonderful then finish a book, watch a movie and cuddle with the kitties when it started to rain.

The movie I watched was Nobody Walks.

Martine (Oliva Thirlby), an artist from New York, arrives in Los Angeles to work on her film. She is staying with friends of a friend, Julie (Rosemarie DeWitt), her husband Peter (John Krasinski), Julie's teenage daughter Kolt (India Ennenga), and their young son. From the day that Martine walks into the the lives of this open-minded, relaxed California family, everything issubtly set off balance....Peter is helping Martine complete the sound design on her art film and they collaborate closely together, working in the studio off the pool house where Martine is staying. They develop a connection that is rare for Peter and necessary for Martine to finish her movie, but which begins to veer away from professional terrain. Each character in Nobody Walks experiences a surge of desire catalyzed by Martine's arrival, and everyone is forced to confront the new landscape that emerges in her wake. -- (C) Official SIte

Its funny I watched this movie after finishing the book Virus of the Mind.

The book discusses the science of Memetics or memes, the DNA of the human society. It talks about how these memes or "mind viruses" infect us, push specific buttons to capture our attention and get us talking.

"...Meme evolution is guided by our genetic tendencies, which in turn evolved around sex."

The movie pushed one button, the "sex" button, to intrigue viewers. See in the trailer below.

Although catching my attention at first, the movie fell flat. It was about infidelity but although the sort-of affair or fling or "incident" took place, there was no reaction, no emotion, no consequence, no anything following it. It was lack luster to say the least.

Oh well, you win some you lose some.

On a more colourful note, a trend I am currently enjoying is NEON! I'm not one to follow trends, I like what I like, but I like NEON!! I can't say it without putting it in capital letters.
