My Bike, Inspiring Home Decor and Comfort

After two beautiful days in Vancouver its back to rain... Oh well! I enjoyed the sun while it lasted.

Here's me on my birthday bike on my way to work. Took about 40 minutes??
I love my new bike!!

Where there is rain, there is more cuddle time with the kitties!!

I prefer a Y in the name though.

And Jesse. He thinks it's ok to sit on the counter. It's not ok!

He's named after Jesse Pinkman from Breaking Bad.

I love all the layers!!

I want to mention something else tonight. I just finished reading this book called Comfort by Brett C. Hoover.

In Comfort: An Atlas for the Body and Soul, Brett C. Hoover, a scholar and Catholic priest, explores what comfort means-and it means different things to different people. He delves into the psychological, emotional, and spiritual facets of comfort and offers ways to rediscover it.

One of the things I found very interesting in this book was when he talked about North Americans definition of comfort, how many of us are most comfortable alone. I myself tend to feel most comfortable when I am alone, sometimes I feel like staying in my house all day not because I am afraid to go outside but some days I just don't want to deal with anything or anyone. He mentions in other parts of the world people are most comfortable surrounded by loved ones, friends and family. He talked about the importance of us taking ourselves out of our comfort zones, how doing that we learn so much more about ourselves and others.

The book wanted me to be more available, to friends and family, more open to doing new things and meeting new people. I know life gets busy sometimes, we break plans with people we maybe haven't seen for a long time and have broken plans with the last three times we had plans but we all (including me) just need to remember to slow down! Life shouldn't be so stressful and spending time with other people you enjoy being around is so important.

Sorry.. got a little mushy there :P

One last thing before I go. My boyfriend sent this to me today and it's so true!

Except there would be two cats on my bed .

Have a wonderful night!!
xoxo- Michelle
